Ok so our Ikari warriors had issues
player 2 rotary would not work in all positions but 2 !!
upon looking at the schematics I could see the rotary comes in through resistor packs (which tested good) into a pair of TC4584 @A1 and A2
probing the inputs I got good action, but nothing on the outputs.
so I pulled a couple from a donor pcb stack I have in the workshop and proceeded to remove, damn that gnd and power plane pin, people who work on these pcb’s will know what I’m talking about
Cut the old toshiba chips from the working pcb
Then just heat the solder and slid the remaining legs out. Solder wick the old solder out of the ic holes and installed a couple of socket
Cleaned and placed the donor chips into said sockets
game testing proves the repair is a success
next repair on this pcb is the no sound issue.
thanks
Hope this helps others
