I'm piggybacking off this thread.
This thread is to gauge interest in an officially licensed enclosure for the very special Cave CV1000 PCBs. Though paperwork has been signed and a verbal understanding has been met, Cave is very particular about licensing their IP and require a formal sales proposal before officially signaling the go-ahead. This thread is to determine how many enclosures will be produced initially, to gauge interest in various accessories, and determine viability for further enhancements to its design.
The enclosure is designed with a free floating frame and utilizes silicone spacers to help absorb impact in the event of drops or bumps.
Depending on the amount of interest, the following options are possible:
In addition to the enclosure, a nest allowing for proper fitment of the enclosed PCB in the original Cave boxes is being designed. See post #2 in this thread for more information.
Pricing for the nest and additional support materials will likely be ~$50 each. Quantity discounts will be available.
General purchasing information:
To those who are interested, simply post in this thread with a total quantity, and if you are also interested in the nest. There will be no preorders for this. An in-development storefront will be used for distribution when inventory is built. For posterity, this product will be Officially Licensed by Cave.
Disclaimer: the attached photos are of the "prototype" unit. Slight changes to improve the design or finish (EG, the laser engraving) will likely occur between now and production. Any significant changes will be shared here.

- UV printed, full color logo instead of laser engraved
- Injection molded black/gold speckle corners instead of 3D printed
- limited "game" editions (EG, blue and orange for the Donpachi series)
