Hello there
Unfortunately, I don't have enough room for a proper arcade cabinet so my only option for playing arcade games is using a supergun connected to my retrotink.
I've been using a consolized MVS from Aliexpress that has an extension cable that connects to a jamma connector, allowing for other boards to be played. It uses a 12V psu and adjusts voltage accordingly.
All my CPS2 games work like a charm, my only two Namco boards (Soul Edge and Tekken 2) also run without issues. However, other "generic" boards always seem to show some kind of problem.
I recently got a Dragon Master board that shows perfect image no sound at all. My official Power Instinct board show glitched sprites and also no sound at all. My bootleg Cadillacs and Dinosaurs have glitched image even though the sound is OK.
I know real arcade cabs use PSUs with +5v, +12v and -5v. My current setup lacks -5v, maybe that's why those non-SNK/Capcom/Namco boards show those issues? I don't know how/which games actually do use that -5v.
Is there any supergun option that play most of arcade boards just fine? I'd really like to get more arcade boards but knowing that they're likely to have some kind of problems really makes me think again and quit
