When I first got into the arcade collecting scene, I acquired a couple of CPS1 B & C boards along with one A board. One of the B boards was a Street Fighter II: Champion Edition board, but it had a hacked accelerator mod that I despise. Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware of this until months after the acquisition because I had no way of testing the boards at the time. Now that I do, I’d like to convert that B board into something other than SF2.
The C board is a 92631C-6, but I’m unsure which games are compatible with it or whether all C boards have security restrictions for all CPS1 games. After a quick search, it appears that this C board is primarily used for SF2, but Captain Commando also comes up as a possibility.
I also picked up a C board compatible with the Darksoft conversion, but after looking at the list of supported games, I think I’ll hold off on using it for now. There aren’t many games on the list that I would play, as I tend to prefer CPS2 games. I believe that C board is the 92641C, so that’s another option I could consider.
if nothing good can come from it then i'll just reprogram the EEPROMS to the original SF2 CE and keep it safe for the future.
Thank you.,
