I'd like to try and get Mario Kart running on the type 1 triforce, and I thought I'd put out some feelers initially to see if anyone has ever tried to do the same and can tell me what they've tried etc.
My assumption is that MK doesn't work on Type 1 due to the type 3 network stack being a bit different.
My plan is to patch out the network card check, and see if it can play the game without it.
On Dolphin there are various patches that seem to apply to the gamecubes host memory that allow it to (what I think is) skip the network check, as the dimm wasn't implemeneted on earlier versions?
The NETDIMM has the capability to fiddle with GC memory, but unforunately the second MKGP starts up it disables writes to the netdimm and so that plan doesn't work.
I think I'll probably end up having to get dolphin working with a debugger, and finding some patch I can apply to the original media to skip those checks.
Anyone got any tips / things they think might not work?
