Hi,
I have a consolized board and I used the Open MVS project to do it. Apparently everything is working fine except for a weird detail - when I insert the cartridge and turn on the console, the sound is ok, but if I turn off and turn on again, without removing the cartridge, the sound disappears. When I remove the cartridge and insert it again, I turn on and the sound is back.

I tried some games and it happens with almost all. I also tried with a different supergun and the issue persists, so I assume something is wrong with the board.

Does anyone have any idea what might be happening?

Thanks.

How long are you waiting between turning it off and then on again?

Clean the games and slots well and reset the backup ram.

I turn off and then on in a couple of seconds.

I already reset the backup memory and the games are clean - i have more consoles and all the games work fine there.

i wonder if the problem is capacitors - i replaced the AC1, AC3 and AC4 but the problem persists.

Fully 5v modding the board, if it hasn't been done already, and replacing all the remaining caps might be a good idea. It sounds like the board is pretty close to being a full working board.

I don't think the OMVS has a reset button? If not, it should. I would try resetting the system right after the game boots with no sound, to see if that helps. If you have a Unibios, you can do a soft reset, but a hard reset would be better if your CMVS has a button.

The board is done (except for this issue) :) 5V mod, battery mod, unibios. I'll replace the remaining caps to see if the problem disappears. I've made a lot of consoles using openmvs supergun and this is the first time i'm having this issue.

Thanks

That button on the right side of the OMVS is a test button, right? Sure, that's easier to add than a reset because that's on the jamma edge, but there are solder points for a reset button on the back of the MV1C, I'll tell you. :P You don't need the test button if you've got a Unibios installed.

Anyway, it's kind of weird, but sounds like something maybe after the board's warmed up a little. Good luck with it.

The button in the right side opens the Service Menu.
You're right - it's kind of weird - i'll recap everything and then i let you know if it works
