Namco 256 Seeing Double

What am I doing wrong. I boot up the Namco 256 in test mode and I am seeing the screen twice side by side on the same monitor
I am using this on my bench with a supergun
Plus when I do start the game the sound is crazy loud and the board volume wheel does not turn it down

That looks like it might be a sync issue? As for the sound, I think there's a setting in test mode for it, but it's weird that the volume wheel on the JAMMA board doesn't turn it down even a little. Can you try plugging the VGA from the Sys256 directly into your monitor, to rule out something in the chain there?

Yep just fixed that - I had to have all dip switchers OFF
Now I have a good video but no sound

On my JVS to jamma adapter, the warning LED is lit but the game video is running perfect

I've had bad audio on those namco JVS converter boards. Maybe the volume pot is just busted. Thankfully you can run the line level audio elsewhere if that's an option somewhere in your chain.

The system 246 and 256 can do 480p on certain games by flipping dip switches 2,3,4 on the front. If your monitor can accept 480p 31khz signals, you can just hook up the vga cable to the monitor. Your dell monitor should work.
