Just got in a Namco System 11 Tekken 2 Ver B board. All seems well with it, but I wanted to go into the input test while I figure out the extra buttons. The issue is that I have to hold down the test button. If I release it, the board reboots. Is this normal? Using a HAS Minigun supergun.

Boot it up in MAME to compare?
I had the PCB, but I've since sold it and I can't remember (I honestly don't think I ever entered the test/service menu even once).

Honestly wouldn't know how to do that... I have confirmed that it does the same thing on other superguns. Everything seems to work, I just have to hold the button down. Which is kind of a pain when I'm trying to test things.

Tekken 2 uses a ON/OFF switch for test mode, not a momentary switch. (So yes you have to hold it down ;) )

But there is also a dip switch on the PCB you can flip, dip #1

Thanks much, will see if I can find the dip switch.

Confirmed: S2 Dip 1 does the trick.

Yeah, it’s normal for the game to reboot when exiting the test menu.
Yup, got it sorted using SW2 dip 1. What was confusing me is that it uses buttons 1,2,4&5 off a 6 button harness. But built out an adapter and alls working (although the pins on the 48 pin connecter didn't match what the docs say).
