NAME file handling

Is there a limit for the number of characters in name files? Also, does it make any difference using = vs | to separate the region character? I would just test my way to the answer but my kit is all packed up.

IIRC it was 64 chars. In any case, it will just scroll the text left to right and back left, so if you put a too long name it can get hard to read.

Update: It's 16 characters on-screen at once.
