I purchased a ‘New Astro City’ candy cab that unfortunately had a very bad conditioned Chinese clone chassis.
I replaced the chassis with a Nanao MS9 and everything was fine. When making adjustments via the pots to dial in the screen geometry the screen went black (it happened when I was using the control board to adjust screen width).
Sound was coming out of the speakers.
I swapped the position of the jumper from ‘N’ to ‘W’ and everything was fine. The picture was back.
I know these boards are quite old and it would be wise to recap it, but I was wondering if this issue could be because of a blown cap which is in the C531 spot? Apparently when the jumper is set to ‘N’ this capacitor is active.
