Anybody familiar enough how the naomi outputs sound to tell me if this is weird or not?
So I recently got a Naomi listed as working but with no sound. I dont have a sega amp, but after tinkering around with it using a amplifier/radio, I found it did have sound, but I could barely hear it with the amp cranked up to max. Poking around with my meter I found the audio output in the millivolts. Because I had it, I dug out a old phono pre-amp and put that between the naomi and the regular amp and now I can get a respectable volume without having to max it out. Even with some computer speakers I needed the pre-amp to hear it properly.
Has the sound section of the board gone bad and need a recap, or is the sega amp just that powerful?
Has anyone else needed to pre-amp their naomi?
