Hey All,
I have recently purchased a Sega Naomi universal that was completely stripped of all original electrical wiring. I am attempting to rewire it and make it closer to the Japanese style candy cabinet. My question is i don't know the correct way to wire up the coin meter to get it to work using a Japanese coin mech. The Naomi universal was originally wired for using a coin pcb and validator. My wiring harness that connects to the Sega i/o board has the +5v and coin meter wired together with the 100 ohm resistor as a way of spoofing the coin meter. My thought was to remove the 2 jumper wires that are spoofing the coin meter, run a +12v line to the coin meter directly, and splice into the coin chute micro switch and send that wire down to the coin meter as a signal wire. The other idea I had was to send the +12v direct to the coin meter, and then send a wire from the coin meter pin on the Sega I/O down to the coin meter ( assuming the Sega i/o will send a signal to the coin meter telling it a coin has been placed in the chute). Not sure which way is correct, so any ideas are welcome. Thank you.
