So I am building my vinyl music collection. One of my favorite bands of all time is the metal band Rage. They never had their albums released in the USA. My favorite album is The Missing Link. I would love to add this to my collection on vinyl.

I was wondering if any of the Euro members could check out some used vinyl shops and try to find me a record in good condition for a fair price.

Also if you can find an original Aenima by Tool for a reasonable price let me know. ;)

post some of your favorite records from your collection in the music thread. I'm curious. 80's early 90's metal is not something i'm too familiar with.


nothing but the CD on ebay. looks like they sell for $9 but the only ones listed are over priced.

Sold listings for Aenima I guess Christmas realy dives up vinyl prices. dot forget there are about 8x as many people shopping online during the winter then in the summer. Winter = seller season. Summer = buyer season. you'll probably get a better price if you wait till all the posers are done throwing money at their nostalgia and have to take their kids to Disneyland during summer break.

There's that one guy prospecting a copy for $1,600. thanks for driving up the price, guy. :evil:

i'd say thrash. its reminds me of very early Metallica. might have to add these guys to my collection.

in additon to my statement to have a look on discogs just looked my self they go for about 100 euros + shipping.

i'd say a used vinyl shop would have a similar price as discogs seems to be the staple of collector pricing.
 
Post a list of titles of the albums you are after. I can then search the dutch graigslist.
Just did a search for Rage but that search also returns Rage against the machine and what not.

Yeah I looked up there. I'm not opposed to buying one from there if someone can't find one a bit cheaper. I've looked at all of the usual places like ebay, etc.

I love this band. I was introduced to them by my Japanese teacher around 1995. They were popular in Japan as well as Europe. This CD was the very first one I heard from them and actually the very first thing I ever bought on the internet and imported way back in 1996. I had to order it from Noise Record's web page. It shipped from Germany and took like 6 weeks. lol.

I still have this CD in my car and listen to it often. Through conversations I had with Europeans on peer to peer (anyone remember Direct Connect?) I was led to listen to Blind Guardian and Axel Rudi Pell. Both also great.

As for gems you may never have heard of from the US, look up Wrathchild America. My favorite album is called Climbing the Walls. You need to listen to these two songs:

The problem is Aenima vinyl is very rare and though tons of people want a repress there is something holding it up. So the average price for a used one over the last several years is around $300. It's my favorite Tool album but I don't have much hope of finding it before a repress comes around in 10 years or so.

Rage's a very nice band. The album I like the most is "End of all days". Talking to the dead is great.
 
I thought that might be the case but I wasn't sure if by unofficial it was a case of the recording company doing a re-release without the band's permission or something (especially since you pointed out there hasn't been a re-release yet due to some kind of legal issue)

Never realized that bootleg vinyl was even a thing O_o
