Neo Geo MVS-1A Grey Screen issue

need some help figuring out why does my mvs produce this grey screen, but i can still hear sound and see video

hi, i checked and no sadly which i presume is the issue. i guess i need an upscaler/converter that supports RGB/s and convert it to component/composite so i can play it on for the tv? and if so do you have any suggestions?

And how do you have it hooked up right now?

You can look into hd retrovision Genesis 2 component cables. They might work if the TV/monitor supports 240p.

If they don't work with that TV you will need a scaler. The hd retrovision cable will let you connect to the scaler.

The retrotink2x or retroscaler will most likely get you an image on your TV/monitor (480p).

You can go more advanced/expensive with OSSC/pro, 5x, 4k...

I'd start with the component cable.

it's plugged up with an rgb/s cable (which i thought was a component/composite cable) and i looked at the supergun and it only supports rgb/rgb-s. might need a scaler like an ossc or a gbs-c

You plugged it into the component inputs and the also hooked the yellow to the composite input I'm guessing?

Your have the TV input tuned to the composite input I would also guess.

I'm no expert on this but I will make 1 more guess; that it's gray because the yellow is only carrying the sync signal.

Edit: just my $.02 I'm not a fan of the GBS-C. I have one.

OSSC is probably the best value. I see prices dropping and it's very capable.

ok i did plug it in with all 5 cables and i get no signal, however when i just plug in the yellow it only shows the grey, i dont have rgb/s on my tv. also they're many types of ossc and gbs-c so im currently looking for a good one.

OSSC should all be the same in terms of functionality.

They might use different quality components though.
