Hey guys,

I Have a net dimm showing the famous error 22, so i brought some buffer chips and was about to try my first smd works.

So I set up my AliExpress microscope and was about to jump in the deep end and try to swap out the buffer chip. but i thought i would take a look over the board first and stared looking at the components and noticed a resistor is missing. it is on the under side so it would be easy to be knocked off etc.

Does anyone know what the part no, or rating would be? it is at location PC26S and may be a thermistor as it is a beige colour and not numbered. it is the left hand one in the bank of three in the pic. fingers crossed replacing this fixes the net dimm as the buffer chip was way out of my league 🤣

I'd say it's a missing capacitor given the reference on the silkscreen says C13S; it would be Rxxx if it was a resistor like the other parts nearby. The two components to the right of it are labelled PC26S and PC25S, which I'd say are also capacitors and look like decoupling/bypass capacitors for the IC given they're in parallel and seem to be connected between a supply rail and ground. That might be why they have a P prefix, for power.

If was a resistor you could also just read the numbers to get the Ohm value, but capacitors are never labelled at this size so someone will have to use an LCR meter to reliably measure the capacitance. I can check one of mine when I get chance unless someone beats me to it.
