I've a naomi system with multi bios installed and a netdimm with a zero key pic running firmware 4.02.

All naomi and netdimm ram diagnostics pass.

Using the piforce loader with lcd to transfer games over the network.

Several games work fine but some give this error message after transfer and memory check has completed:

error 31
this game is not acceptable by main board

I've tried various dip switch region setting for the multi bios and also tried using and original export bios chip. I've also purchased a second zero key pic from elsewhere but it's the same problem.

Would anyone have any suggestions? ?(

Ah, netbooting woes... :)

Are your voltages okay? Try reseating the net dimm and also the daughterboard on the net dimm to see if that helps.

Tried re-seating and double checked output from the sun PSU with a multimeter and fine tuned the 3.3v and 5v. Thanks for the tips but sadly no luck.

Games that work for example are: Sega Tetris, Capcom vs SNK, WWF Royal Rumble
Games that give that error are MvsC 2, Capcom vs SNK 2

I haven't tested more but perhaps you can see something in common with the above?

Hi Sp33dFr34k, no luck re-seating that I'm afraid.

I read here error 31 is related to the battery:
http://members.iinet.net.au/~lantra9jp1_nbn/gurudumps/naomi/netdimm.html

I always thought the battery was only useful to hold the game after power off but apparently it's needed by some games. I know the netdimm battery is 100% dead and not charging so I'm going to try find a battery somewhere to order and give that a try.

Yeah, it shouldn't matter since you're not powering down. Have you tried it with the battery disconnected?

I've seen that error on my own setup a few times - I've always resolved it by disconnecting everything, including taking apart the netdimm and re-seating the DIMM modules.

That's my experience as well @wigsplitta. Doubt the battery is the issue here. My battery is dead as well and those games are booting up for me. Just not sure what else to suggest at this point.

I had someone sell me a netdimm once which was supposedly faulty. Pulled it apart and reseated everything, works fine for me ever since. These things are very annoying once you have a problem with them :(

Is @AndyGeezer still browsing these forums? Maybe he could chime in here.

Thanks for the tips. I've tried swapping the dimms around and blasting the dust away with compressed air at every connection point.

The battery is disconnected at the moment and I actually had trouble trying to find a replacement to buy when looking yesterday.....

Just thinking I might try 1x dimm installed later this evening although the entire 2x 256MB dimms test fine in the test mode.

The games that don't boot with the pi also don't boot with transfergame.exe from a windows laptop.

Does anyone have a link to the python script that can bypass pic protection and I'll try that too?

Maybe your isos are corrupt or something. TBH, I had the same problem netbooting exactly the same games for a while. I also tried everything and then reloaded the isos/bin files. I also think that those specific files were for GD Rom games.
