40 feet of shipping container.
Several poor choices.
Multiple tipped over OK Babies.
One really tired importer.
Welcome to the YubiParts Candy Clearance Celebration.
16 CRT candy cab projects in a New York warehouse and 3 weeks to get them sold. If I’m correct in my understanding, it's rare there are this many (18 in total) imported to the Northeast US at once. I wanted to sell these in bulk but these are too much project for one person to take on.
nov 21 update: please see latest post for astros and oks
Here’s 9 of them:
OK BABY - THE GOLDEN PRINCESS OF CHEAP CABS
TL;DR: they're yellowed project cabs. $250 for shells with definitively broken CRTs. $400 for probably working but not fully tested/troubleshooted. $650 for working and needs a recap and rewiring.
ASTRO CITY:
coming soon! If you’d like to come in person to take a look at the cabs anyway and get first pick, let me know!
HOW TO BUY EM:
TL;DR: Pickup, no cash/zelle, come prepared in a truck or van and come hungry for Mexican food and arcade conversation.
In-person pickup only at my warehouse in Yonkers, New York at this time. May consider shipping later on (but why would you want to pay $500 to ship one of these?) If you come around lunch or dinnertime I’ll treat you to some good Mexican food nearby. I would also like to think my warehouse is kinda cool and I am always down to talk shop!
PAYMENT:
No cash and no Zelle due to bank limitations. No exceptions, sorry. Payment at time of pickup.
PICKUP:
Let me know any questions or concerns or if you want any more photos. Thanks for reading!

THE GOOD:
THE BAD:
THE CABINETS:
Please don’t price police. If you want a cab for less than I am asking, haggle me down. I cannot find any price reference for OK Babies in the Northeast, to which it cost me $13,000 to ship the container this time around. (Red Sea War, VERY poor timing, and storage costs.) Not saying you should pay for my mistakes, but just informing why I priced these the way I did.
SHELLS:
The CRT is not going to work. Take the cab, toss the CRT, do what you want with it.
#1: Tipped over in transit. Chassis mount broke off, chassis fell, and there is glass all over inside of cab: $250
#4: Tipped over in transit. Chassis mount broke off, chassis fell, and the yoke snapped off too: $250
IN PROGRESS:
Cabs I haven’t gotten around to troubleshooting in order to get the CRT turn on. Please buy them so I don’t have to finish troubleshooting them.
If you come in-person, troubleshoot them yourself at the warehouse, and get them to work, you can still take them for $400. They’re a gamble, but unlike your average casino game, your odds are improved with spare parts and technical skill. Also unlike the average casino game, you will not be charged for vandalism for taking them apart on location. Unless you’re mean to me.
#2: The chassis mount broke off, chassis fell, and I haven’t drilled out the back door lock to put it back on. $400
#8: I don’t remember all the testing I did on this one, but IIRC there’s a distorted picture at 31khz and nothing at 15khz. $400
#9: I have no notes for this one but I think the CRT didn’t power on when testing. This should be because of broken/poorly done wiring. Will update soon if needed. $400
YES DEAR:
Cabs that work and just need a recap on top of your basic cleaning.
#3: Jamma harness snapped in three pieces. Some bodge wiring reveals a bright CRT with some color issues, which can probably be fixed with pot adjustments (which I can’t get to yet) and/or less bodged wiring. $650
#5: Monitor is wavy. See here: https://streamable.com/tsif5p $650
#7: Monitor is a little wonky. See photo. $650
THE GOOD:
- They’re cheap.
- Seller in China cleaned them, leaving only basic dust.
- The CRTs were working when they left China. Some of them even work here!
- They run on 110V natively.
- You can buy a cheap shell and have infinite spare parts.
- They clean up VERY well.
- Surprisingly little burn-in?
- Fairly simple wiring harnesses that can be fixed up without much of a problem.
THE BAD:
- Yellowed and cracked in many places.
- They will need love, dusting, repainting, and recaps.
- You will need to drill out or pick the lock on the back CRT door.
- No audio amp.
- Haven’t seen any lights turn on, unsure if there are any lamps up top.
- In their current state, the wiring sucks and I can’t get my PCBs to power up over the 12V.
- I may have mangled the power plugs on a couple of them in an effort to get them tested ASAP.

PICKUP:
- Bring an extra person to help load.
- Bring moving blankets and ratchet straps. I gave all of mine to customers who didn’t come with their own
- NO CONSUMER VEHICLES. In order of preference, you can bring a: flatbed pickup truck (my dock is very low and rolling a cab in is super easy), box truck, van, trailer. Have had not great experiences with disassembling cabs to fit in consumer vehicles.
