I piggybacked this thread: can't get stereo sound from RCA sockets--SOLVED (post 
But I thought I'd also post a fresh one since it was old and since maybe my problem is slightly different.
I have seen through searching around that many have had this problem, but generally booting with volume down held seems to resolve it. Unfortunately, not for me.
I even tried opening up the board and shorting the supercap, still no luck. Checked for cold/cracked joints and tested for continuity as well, also searched for faulty caps. Everything seems to be fine, so I'm stumped.
