I'm using an OSSC 1.8 in a custom cabinet to convert VGA to HDMI. Originally I had a Namco 246 which natively outputs VGA and I could bypass the JAMMA harness. Now I've added a CPS2 to the mix and must deal with RGBS.

What's the simplest way to get the RGBS signal to my OSSC? Can I splice the wires on to a SCART cable directly? Do I need to add resistors? Are there any inexpensive pre-made cables?

You could potentially consider the marqs hdmi mod as a valid option then.
Since you still want the jamma harness for buttons.

I have an analog to digital converter. My question was more about the feasibility of using SCART to transfer that data.

A supergun does that exact thing so it should work but you may need to be careful with TTL voltage via scart.

You said you have a custom cab and your Monitor's input is HDMI?

Best solution would be a Supergun like ForestofDreams mentioned

Feed RGB Scart from your Supergun to the OSSC
You can have both Scart and VGA hooked up at the same time too

You can easily rewire your Joystick and Buttons via a DB-15 Break Out Terminal and connect that directly to the Supergun via a DB-15 Cable

Recommend the HAS
Lots of great options including Button Mapping

Hope that is something you can consider :D
