Hi all,
First post for a very frustrated Outrun 2 owner, but hopefully someone can help.
It's a single sit down Outrun 2 machine, Sega Chihiro hardware with GD ROM.
I had it working fine after fixing a few problems but the force feedback on the steering wheel wasn't working so I decided to try to fix that too. I took the drive board from a Club Kart machine I also have and it looked identical so I fitted it but then on powering up the machine I get the Error 11 JVS IO board is not connected to main board message. I put the old drive board back in but it's still the same. I changed the IO board for the Club Kart one and it's still the same. I've changed the USB cable and it's still the same.
If I run the media board test everything is ok. If I run the JVS test it says no jamma I/O board. Both of the I/O boards I've tried have 2 red LEDs lit up on them.
The logical explanation is that somehow the Club Kart drive board has damaged another component in the machine, or I've damaged something fitting it.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Bryn.
