PAL vs GAL

Hello,

if I have a device capable of writting PAL chips, can I just use the prg and buff filex found in mame and rewrite them in a PAL to fix/convert a CPS1 board, or it doesn't work that way and I have to look for the decrypted GAL files?

Just convert the .bin file from MAME to .jed and burn it in the targeted device.
