What are they useful for? Vertical mounting?

Mounting to a wooden board inside a cab.
These are also used on the Capcom JVS IO, but yes they're necessary for mounting the PCB to a block of wood in the cab, important if you're transporting cabs with the board in it, or have a cab that requires vertically mounting the PCB.l

I want to give @CB_of_Luton some positive feedback. I sent him $2 for these and he mailed them out to me, despite it costing $4! He didn't ask for any extra money (but I still sent it to him), and was pretty cool about this transaction.
