Could someone enlighten me on somethings regarding Oriental Legend 2
1. How do you unlock the two locked characters?
a. With a Cardreader?
b. Without a Cardreader?
2. Whats the "best" setting to enjoy the Game without a Cardreader? I get two shot by the first Boss and i assume that has something to do with the Leveling Up and saving your Char on to Cards (Wrong/Correct?). Are there any (in)official Vanilla Settings or is it just a case of "git gud"?

The card readers Still work. You need a card to Match the game your playing. There is around 6 to 8 cards per PGM2 game. I think you can use any of the cards.. as long as it matches the game your playing. I did start a project to make a "custom" smart card that has all the unlocks on the card. I never got it finished.. but its still something i want to do.
You might want to join my PGM Discord group. I'm sure someone in there can help you manually unlock your game.
