Deathsmiles Mega Black Label kit is so rare you could probably ask 10k for it and noone would bat an eye.

Huh. Last time I'd been paying attention it was a little over 2k.

Unfortunately those days are over (and getting worse) @rewrite — the influx of buyers this past year on Yahoo Auctions Japan have pricked up the ears and wallets of dealers, grippers, flippers, sellers and stores.

Two years ago when I spoke to owner of G-Front he kept saying that the prices that the Cave stuff sells for is shocking to him. And at that time it was still relatively “decent” compared to now.

Conservatively I would say a DSMBL bare PCB would sell for around $3500-4000 USD.

Recently I seen a vanilla Deathsmiles PCB in average condition sell for $1450 USD shipped.

The kits, depending on the contents and condition are even more all over the place price wise than the bare PCBs.

Kingdom Grand Prix isn’t really on the gripper & flipper radar as much, I would start hunting for that? If my memory serves me correct one sold on the shmups forum for $400 at the end of last year.

Meh... I've been looking on and off, just can't catch one for sale. Too bad I hadn't seen it.

I'd posted a couple months ago on DS and the consensus was ~1200. I'm sure one sale at 1450 now means everyone else will point to it as the going rate now.

Prices will go back down in time for all but the truly rare stuff. I can wait for most things. But DS is probably my favorite shmup of all time, and I'd like to own it again.

Will definitely keep your list in mind and PM you direct if anything pops up.

You're right on the prices going down eventually. It's only a matter of time before the price gouging and PCB hoarding backfires on the perpetrators.

I concur at how great a game Deathsmiles is too. Do you have a Xbox 360 cabbed up to tide you over in the meantime?
