Hello,
Id like to replace my former 18awg wire which is used for Earth, but also the same type is used as general PSU wires, with a more recent model which is a bit thiner but still 18awg.
The former indicates a max temp. of 105°C for 600V. The new one, a max. temp. of 80°C and 300V.
Can I use the new one without any danger?
Ps. New Astro PSUs input : AC90-132V.
Thank you

The Sega manual calls for 18AWG UL1015 wiring for the field ground (earth) harnesses. 1015 wiring has thicker insulation compared to 18AWG UL1007 that’s why higher voltages and heat can be run through it. The copper in both is the same so the current limits should be same as well.

You should be fine using 18AWG UL1007 with lower voltage and temperature ratings since the hookup wiring in candy cabs is usually very robust. That being said, Sega spec’ed the wiring this way for a reason so, if you can swing it, I would use the wiring with thicker insulation.

Ok, thanks for these infos. So, I'll look for an UL1015 wire. This I'll use for all connections coming from the PSU. It's more safe.
