I ended up going today to take a look. It's a TV production studio liquidating all their gear.
Unfortunately all the 19" BVM's were taken, except one that wouldn't power up. But there were a lot of 8 - 15" BVM's and PVM's. The busted 19" was tempting but I really don't need another repair project, and I've got little time these days to investigate hardware problems. I could have probably got it for cheap though. Oh well.
I did end up grabbing a nice 13" BVM for reasonably cheap! BVM-1311
It didn't have the keys to get into the settings boards, and it was set to internal sync, so I couldn't fully get a stable image out of it as is. But for the test screens that did momentarily display, you could tell that the geometry, brightness and sharpness looked good.
I'll have to drill out the locks and get to the settings boards, which is no big deal. I've drilled out many o' locks before.
This thing is a beast though. I never owned a BVM before, only PVM's, so I was surprised how heavy even this 13" monitor is.
Once I get into the settings I'll switch it over to External Sync so I can hook up my consoles, and will post images then.
Thanks again for the heads-up, just too bad I couldn't secure a working 19"er.
