I have the Darksoft CPS3 kit, and the whole thing is enclosed in the metal case from Jasen’s Customs. I am considering buying the Ultra SIMM for faster load times. When reading the product page though, it says games are set using DIP switches. Will I need physical access to the board to change these switches? If so, the metal case could be a problem.

If the ribbon cable is long enough (not sure if it is!), you can just run the DIPs outside of the case somewhere. Otherwise, yeah, you might need to pop open the case to change the DIPs. I guess you could just extend the wires yourself...

Some revisions of the Jasen case have a cutout for the DIPs, by the way.
