[Question] NAMCO Time Crisis 3 Dongle + CD

If I have an original CD for NAMCO Time Crisis 3, is there a way to obtain an associated USB dongle without having to buy a whole new kit?

You can convert a different dongle to TC3. I believe TC3 requires a special Namco I/O tho.

When you say a special Namco I/O, does this sometimes mean hard to find? Or just picky in compatibility?

It can be found but probably more expensive. Not as easy or cheap as any of the Sega I/Os for sure.

right, TC3 uses CRT guns so the I/O board has a special passthrough for the video sync to handling the timings for the gun tracking.
