Recently picked up a SDVX cab that needed some love before going on the floor of my arcade.

After getting back to the workshop, we unwrapped everything to see what was needed to get it 100%

Upon power up, the game worked but we had the very common brown stain on the monitor.

This meant the monitor had to come out for some attention....

More to come soon!

Luckily a local friend has a SVDX cab and repaired his monitor. He suggested we try what he did, and voila!

After getting this sorted, we could focus on other issues, like the rotted out Subwoofer.

Ordered a new replacement and swapped that in. The biggest issue was the yellowed LEDs and the broken bottom panel wing. I ordered some new LED bars from Ice Dragon.

Swapped all of the old boards out with these. Up next we will look at the more extensive repair regarding broken welds on the wing

could you, pretty please, tell us how high the control panel is ? Perhaps the width also ? :) thank you !

Would you mind sharing more details about that magic fix or is it a kept secret?
From what I gather, there are 3-4 sheets of plastic in front of the actual LCD. I believe the staining happens on the fisrt 2 sheets of plastic only. He pulled the LCD out, peeled the first two sheets off, then put it back in and it looks like what you see. You couldn't really see the stain during gameplay unless you looked, but it was annoying.

Up next was the biggest issue with my cab, the welds snapped on one of the wings. In looking at the metal, it appears that all of the pinch welds failed. I have a neighbor near my arcade that does metal work, and lucky for me he tacked the bracket back together for me.

With this fixed, I needed to bring the welds down and paint the internal side black before replacing the LED panel.

All new junk installed and playing great. This was a simple little fixer upper, but it's an awesome game I'm happy to own.

that last post of yours showed me that the "screen" I was seeing on the control panel is not a screen at all but the sub ! :D thanks again!
