I'm currently in the process on trying to fix a Raiden board. One of the things I wanted to do is check and make sure all the ROMs on the board are in working order. However, the ROMS in the position of 3-6, and 8, do not match anything on "https://romident.coinopflorida.com/". I was eventually able to find out that this is the Taiwan release according to the Liang HWA watermark on the title screen. Everything seemed to work fine before the board shit the bed and wouldn't boot again. I tried plugging all the ROMs I ripped into MAME and everything seemed to work just fine. Would these ROMs be some sort of potential Taiwan revision of the game or just some bootlegged replacement ROMs? I'm just curious at this point.

Also, I will go ahead and add to this to not clog things up and make another thread. This may just turn into a general troubleshooting regarding this Raiden board. When I first received this board, the first thing that caught my eye is the burnt ground and +5v. Thankfully that weren't completely burnt off. But someone went to town with some sort of abrasive on the JAMMA connector. Another thing visually suspect on the board was the obliterated UEC-52 custom, so it was first on the repair list. After replacing this with one of Caius' repoductions, I was then able to get a little further with the repair. However, that did not fix the game not booting. It was displaying scrabled graphics and the only button that would respond to is the coin insert. After looking at a couple repair logs that had boards suffering from similar symptoms, I figred the RAM would be the next best thing to test/replace. I went ahead and replaced the 4 of the RAM chips nearest to the JAMMA connector. The game was now able to boot but had some slight graphical glitches. However soon crashed after about 10 minutes and now wont boot again. But this time it displays nothing but a white screen. I'm down for any potential advice, since the last thing I want to do is break anything else on this board that wasn't already broken.

The current Taiwanese set is just a region code swap from the parent set. This is different.

Nice find!

Neat! When I was first ripping the ROMs I was starting to wonder if I was doing something wrong/something was wrong with the EPROM. It was driving me crazy for a while. Thanks for the help with this nem.

Now it's time to see if I can fix the flickering sprites/crash.

Apologies for the delayed reply on this. Here are a set of photos of the board with/without the daughter board.
