Grand Master
I have decided to release this in the current state, as i keep postponing it because of time issues, or i get lost in writing more documentation.
(My backlog is also insanely full, i need to pick projects carefully.)
So here it is: A port from source of NBA Jam TE/SE aka the 5.0 Griffey release.
It's a full port of the T-Unit code into W-Unit (which is very similar, but not quite.)
A lot of time and work went into this. I started back around Christmas 2023, so it's almost a year of work, reverse engineering, fixing up code, (back/forward)porting of stuff from Hangtime and so on.
A lot of effort went into the DCS sound program to get the best quality into the 4 DCS chips, with painstakingly recording audio and chopping it up into loops to play by DCS.. (re)sampling many player callouts, and so forth. It's not 100% perfect and some samples sound different, it would take a lot more time to make it all sound the same, and i rather get something released and take bug reports.
Most of the nitty gritty is in the docs, see the zip on Mega

If you want to run on real hardware, there's no need to burn all the roms in the ZIP, see hardware.txt
If you want to check it out in MAME, drop nbamht.zip into the roms folder.
Kudos go to MJRGH for his excellent DCSExplorer program (this allowed a huge speed up when building new DCS roms).
Thanks and shoutout to Resurecta who helped with bug reports & testing.
I am looking for testers. I've done extensive testing in MAME but lack the time to do this on real hardware.
- I know the speech samples are not all the same, DCS audio rom changes are 'frozen' for now.
- GFX Roms are final. (There's 8 in use, burn only as needed. These 8 will remain, any gfx addons will be in new unused sockets.)
- Program roms may change as i collect bug reports and updates may be released in the future. (2x 27C040 to burn)
- No public source code yet.
