Hi Guys, looking at my Sega ClubKart twin, i wonder if it is possible to convert to Outrun 2, F355, initial D etc? I guess yes by just swapping the naomis but the one problem is that Club Kart has no shifter.

So i need to get a shifter somewhere, mount it somehow instead of the useless card slot, but then how would i wire this one and most important: where should i wire it to? where usually are the wires from the shifter attached to in case of outrun 2 for example? is it a additional board or how does it work?

i would really like to avoid buying an extra outrun 2 cab for space reasons...

could i just buy this:

and mount it instead of the card slot ( are the connections the same behind the wheel unit?

This has to be possible somehow

Cheers and thx for your help.

Steering wheel turn radius doesn't make Club Kart a good conversion candidate for Initial D.

The shifter is wired to the digital inputs on the JVS IO. Check the manuals, they usually have schematics.

Yeah I guess that’s true , also for f355 I think the wheel turn is huge … but I guess it should work fine for outrun 2 , which is most important?

Anyway , the I/o board , is that actually the same with all those games and also Club Kart ? Or do I have to buy one specific for outrun 2 ?

If you want to map one wheel / shifter to all those games I'd look into a solution where you can anonymize the controls to USB, and then use a Ras-Pi with open JVS to bring it back to whatever hardware you want to map it to. It may introduce lag, I'm working on a similar setup right now, but I found that the fact that some axes are backwards, and stuff makes it kind of nightmare-ish to try and make a one size fits all solution unless you can re-map what you send to the Naomi/JVS recipient.
Also with the ras-pi you could in theory set a auto center with a force feedback wheel, while with Club Cart2 it's doubtful you'd be able to get the force feedback to work in something like initial-D unless they use exactly the same driver board.

As far as I researched it it is without problems possible to convert an outrun 2 to club kart without any wiring etc , but the other way round is Another story obviously
