My Seibu SPI board has started acting up, and I can't quite figure out why. I'm aware of this system's enthusiasm for popping a solder joint here or there when flexed, but what's happening currently doesn't seem entirely in line with that. Or at least, its consistency is puzzling to me.
When I fire up my Raiden Fighters Jet, there are no sprites. Everything works, everything's running and sounding fine and games can be played, but there are no sprites at all. After a few minutes, they come back - slowly - from either the left or right side and gradually filling in to the other side over about 30 seconds.
It's weird! Heat related? Popped solder joint? I'm hoping for anyone knowledgeable enough with this system to point to what specifically I should be checking, or whether it's ... Something I haven't thought about, maybe?
