I recently bought a used Sencore CR700 off ebay. The seller stated
it was used by his grandfather to repair tvs and he is now retired and has
no use for it.
Claimed all functions work but tested by just turning it on.
Anyways.. I performed a field test on it. It did not pass.
The filament volts all worked.. the bias worked up to -100v. Selecting
-116v threw -180v would all max out st the same -109.8v.
The cut off tests seemed fine.
When I tried the re-activate the blue gun select would at first report
128ma. The other guns would read right at 1ma ea.
And the last test of low restore worked fine for the red/green guns but not
the blue.. it was the same 128ma results.
Tried testing it again 2 days later and at first was doing the same.. when
I selected the blue gun I noticed a loud hum while hitting the press to
retore button during the re activate or low restore tests.
Then while swapping back and forth from thr red/green and blue guns.. all
of the sudden it's now worse.
All color options report either 22.2ma or 274ma. Ea press of the button
will be either one.. so now all color gun selections are bad for either re
activate or restore options.
Is this something I could open up and possably notice something obviously wrong and fix? I have the schematics.
