Well, you don't replace the wire, you replace the clip / hook at the end. The few I have replaced have been soldered on. I usually keep a few junk flybacks with intact clips in my spare parts box because of this.
Interestingly enough, I had to do just this same repair for a WG K7000 minutes ago and took some snaps. In my case, I managed to upgrade the anode retaining clip from a donor, if that is at all even possible:
On the left is the receipient; to the right, the donor
Sack the anode cap from a TV donor which was sacked further for its tube
Ensure that the anode cap is threaded onto the anode wire of the receipient chassisas before you do this otherwise you will have to desolder and do it the in proper sequence
In my case, I desoldered the andode clip from the donor
Not shown is after the solder is sucked out from the bottom of the clip's inside bend, is an eyelet to thread the anode wire metal through
Helps holding it in place as you solder
Strip back anode wire about 3/8"
Tin it and thread it through the clip eyelet, if any
Flood the anode retainer clip and wire with solder
Make sure you get a really strong joint because as you move the cap back in place, it could break the joint
Flip anode retainer clip over so it surrounds the anode wire insulation
Thread that anode cap back over the tip of the wire and whol-lah!
K7000's come with the cheap ass rabbit ear style anode clips. This one was from a high end TV from years back. So I did manage and upgrade.
