Great choice going with the regular solid color Seimitsu buttons. So many people don't realize these are COMPLETELY different buttons than the see-through color ones. The microswitch on the back is massive compared to other buttons. A completely different shape and feel from Sanwa buttons. I love em!

Yes you can add a kick harness, there's another din connector for composite but I don't think I have that cable. I might be able to dig up one that you can modify..

I used to have one of these things. They're MASSIVE, describing them as a tank is definitely accurate. Very sturdy. Has a headphone jack and a DIN... 8?, I forget, but it can do composite and RGB out, so that's a nice bonus.

It having composite is definitely a very useful feature. You can pretty much use any CRT you want. That’s something that shouldn’t be taken for granted in today’s RGB monitor market. If your good RGB monitor takes a crap you can use an estate sale special TV to hold you over for a while you apply for a second mortgage.

Does this have a single 3-gang pot for RGB levels or individual ones? I have a Sigma AV-5000 and it has a single pot, and a Pana Twin MP-92 where they're individual. Would be nice to have an all-in one style SG with the single pot because adjusting the levels on the MP-92 is a pain.

It's actually a bit harder to tell what switch is used based only on if the button is clear or solid. For example the 30mm PS-15 snap-in buttons use the smaller switch and come in solid colors and the PS-14-KN uses the larger switch and is clear.

The larger microswitch is in the flat snap-in PS-14-G and the convex screw-in PS-14-GN. I agree that these are the best feeling buttons that are currently in production and use them for everything. They were also used by default in many cabs and superguns.

EDIT: Just saw the link to the full size image and saw that the buttons are flat, which confirms that they do have the larger switches.

Yep. The flatness is the dead give away.

I actually didn’t realize the smaller switch ones come in solid colors as I’ve never seen them for sale at any shops. I only ever see clear (convex shape) with the small switch or solid (flat shape) with big switches. I hardly ever see anybody rocking the flat Seimitsu buttons despite their history of being used on so much stuff mid-90s and below. I like Sanwa buttons as well, but these flat Seimitsu buttons are just so damn satisfying to push. Night and day difference on the feeling.

One interesting thing that I've noticed since coming into a few original Aero City panels is that they came with an older style of flat screw-in button that are NOT PS-14-Gs, as PS-14-Gs are snap-in and Seimitsu doesn't make a flat screwbutton. Thing is, the microswitches in them can be either Sanwa SW-68s (the standard in the typical OBSF buttons you see everywhere) or the smaller Seimitsus. It seems like they came from the factory like that, outfitted entirely with either type, like some were all Sanwa switches and some were all Seimitsu, but always in the same buttons. I believe the buttons are Sanwa's old OBSN screwbuttons, before they changed them to have a convex top, but not sure what the deal is with some having Seimitsu switches:

Here's a picture I found of some lucky asshole's haul of NOS Aero panels and you can see the top and bottom panels have Sanwa switches while the middle has Seimitsus (contacts either in a straight line or offset)

I've also seen this on my own not-so NOS panels as one was outfitted with the Sanwa switches and one with the Seimitsus:

Smaller is 5 x 20mm

Larger is 6 x 30mm

Hmm, is that the Sigma Hakuryu you're referring to? I'm not sure of the differences (if any) outside of the paint color and graphic..
