I have 2 of them that I hook up to a Vewlix L clone using a Gonbes 8200 scaler. Everything else I hook up works fine, but these 2 both have the same issue, and I just can't figure it out.

Any suggestions?

Rad. Good looking out on that. I wanna use better ones, but for my immediate purposes I gotta just use what i've got. I'll try some of the stuff in that mod post and see how it goes.

To resolve your problem, I was going to recommend for you to ship me the caves games but Derick's OSSC recommendation is good toooo ^^

Yea that GBS scaler is pure trash, most recommended is the OSSC and the runner up is the xRGB Mini.

Important note about the OSSC however, with the stock Vewlix LCD you are going to need a iScan DVDO-VP30 (or VP50 or VP50 Pro).
Vewlix LCD is very picky about 60hz sync, and most JAMMA games (board dependent) coming off the OSSC will be just below (55~58hz) that spec.

Example: Vewlix Diamond Stock LCD, Life Force PCB + HAS v3 (top) iScan DVDO VP30 (middle) OSSC (bottom)

So, I was able to get this taken care of. It actually was simpler than expected, which makes me feel like a double asshole. In the guide Derick linked, the guy said that he had used a 5v 2.5a power supply to the scaler. It occurred to me that the one thing I hadn't replaced in the equation was the power. I wired the scaler directly to the psu and then set it up to auto adjust once the flickering had died down most of the way, and now it's perfect. Fixed both games with a single quick fix.

Thanks for the link Derick. I owe you a cold one ;)

Case Closed.
