Hey Everyone! I have been having some very strange audio issues with my ZN-2 boards and so it was recommended that I post my issues here and ask for help.

I'm getting no audio from either my SuperGun (Jasen's Customs MK30 ADCAP) or the Stereo Header directly on the ZN-2 board. Unless I plug my Stereo Header board (Everten ZN-2 to RCA) into my PS Audio Sprout box line in jack using an RCA to 3.5mm cable, and then unplug that same RCA to 3.5mm cable from the Sprout box after turning on my SuperGun. After that I get sound on both my SuperGun through the JAMMA edge and the stereo header connection. As an aside, I also can't get sound through the JAMMA edge with the board(s) and the setting(s) set to mono. Only using the Stereo workaround above has done anything at all.

From what I can tell, this is a jank way to get audio to work and it's also defeating the audio circuit on the ZN-2 somehow, but I can't seem to get any normal method to work.

I have replaced the HAPP power supply in my SuperGun to a MeanWell 125 Power Supply and that didn't fix the issue. I bought another ZN-2 board that has been confirmed as working just as a sanity check as well.

I have run out of ideas to get audio working properly and am looking for some help and direction.

Thanks,

I think I may have cracked the ZN-2 audio nonsense! I read over an article again that I had read in the past and it mentioned that on ZN-2 boards, there should only be either stereo or JAMMA edge connections for audio, not both. So, I tried covering the speaker connector on the board and my JAMMA extension with electrical tape to "terminate" it, and Q-Sound worked from the stereo header right at startup; I didn't have to change any settings or unplug anything! I'll need to check the stereo heatsink after playing for a while to make sure it's not getting super hot; or that something else isn't off, like weird voltage jumps, but it seems to work!

check that your super gun isn't tying "Speaker -" to ground.

"Speaker -" IS NOT GROUND yet I see dozens of super guns treating it as such leading to all kind of audio issues.

take a multimeter and check continuity between the speaker - pin and ground.
