Looks like you're experiencing an earthquake.

But really, I'm gonna guess you have some loose solder joints somewhere on the chassis. Lots of vibrating parts are shaking the chassis, possibly connecting/disconnecting some component.
 
Original Hitachi monitor? Yes, check for cold solder joints like stated above. Also a cap kit is probably a good idea if it was never serviced.
 
It’s probably a bad solder joint like mentioned but I’d try unplugging the degauss coil too, I’ve never seen a PTC fail in a way that would cause that but easy enough to rule out.
 
Thanks for the all input. It's the original Hitachi gmk-29fs3. I'll take out the chassis later today and start diagnosing.

IKR! Especially after the nightmares i went through dealing with 2931 and 2933, this one is a breeze to deal with.
