Hey guys,
Got a soul calibur board that freezes in attract mode, specifically at the white or black "soul calibur" screen before the solo demonstration for a character. (looks like this).
If you're actually playing it, it doesn't seem to freeze, have tried as many combinations of characters and stages as I could.
Have recapped the main board, and cpu board. Repaired and cleaned some damaged traces due to leaky caps.
Swapped CPU boards with a tekken 3 board to eliminate the CPU board.
Cleared data in test mode.
Occasionally, pressing the test button while its not frozen but has been on a bit brings it to a black screen.
It's pretty infuriating, because it plays, looks and sounds just fine, just freezes, sometimes within a few minutes, sometimes an hour later.
Any suggestions?
