So, I decided to do a make-over on my System 256 metal case. Mine came is not only dirty/yellowed, but also has a couple of rust spots around.

My intention is to sand the case, prime it and paint white, starting with the lid. So, the first step is getting the "MagicGate" label re-made and printed on adhesive photo paper:

I based mine on a cleaned-up file someone posted a long time ago in the forums (sorry, I don't remember the specific thread), and made it dimensionally accurate.

Well, since we're wasting a whole A4 page of adhesive photo paper, we might as well print some more stuff:

The fonts I used are: Namco Regular for the main logo, and Zen Dots for the "System 256" text... aaaand a few Pac-Mans for good measure. Made the SVG with Inkscape.

Alright, finally had time to start this. Used "Rust-oleum Ultra Cover 2x", which is supposedly both primer + paint, in brilliant white.

I sanded the lid with 240-grit sandpaper, cleaned it with IPA, and did a couple of passes with the paint on my makeshift "painting booth" and... it's quite amazing. Looks like I painted with the proper equipment even! :D

And here with the stickers applied:

Now I need to find time to disassemble the rest of the chassis and continue...

Alright, finally had time (and space) to dismantle the rest of the case, drill out the rivets, mask all screw posts, sand all pieces, clean everything, and finally paint it.

When I went on to reassemble everything... I found out I only have the wrong size rivets and today is a holiday over here, so all hardware stores are closed X/

So, it'll have to wait till tomorrow to finish it.

And here is the finished product:

Unfortunately the smaller sticker with the barcode at the front got stuck in the masking tape and I had to remove it completely before painting. I might recreate it later.
