WTB Taito XA1040​ key

Hey AP,

I'm looking for another key for my E2. The key I have is stamped XA1040 on one side and FIRST on the other, so I'm looking for another that matches these markings. If anyone has an extra to sell or can point me toward someone who does I'd appreciate it.

That's just a random lock set thrown on by whoever had it last, not Taito locks or key. Best bet is finding a locksmith to make a copy of what you have, or just replacing all the locks.

The locks Taito provides for the E2 are LY-1153.

@rewrite I thought the same thing, but then I read posts (on AO and NeoArcadia) where other people with E2's said they had keys labeled XA1040, which my key is labeled. Mine also has the FIRST logo on it like this key, which looks to be the LY1153 that should be for an E2.

Maybe it's simply that other people replaced their locks with the same ones I have. Either way I thought I'd put it to the board to see if anyone else had an E2 with the locks I have and a spare key, or any info on an outlier key model that was on E2s.

Just gonna get another key cut and keep it easy.

I can tell you that if you order from Taito they send you LY-1153. I had ordered a few and a lock set last year.

Yeah looks like LY-1153 from the parts manual. How is that guy trying to sell that key for like $60 shipped? You can buy full set of locks and keys straight from taito.

I originally did the same thing, made a copy of the key that came with my cab, but operation wasn’t smooth and the cp locks were single not double so needed two keys to open the cp.

Just order new locks/keys from taito.

I have an XA1040 key. It came on my Egret originally, so while not the original TAITO lock, it’s not impossible.

Hi. Sorry to bump this 5 year old thread. I seem to have the same issue. I just bought a LY-1153 lock and key from Yahoo Auctions as my E2 only came with one key. No idea why I didn't check the key I have but its also a XA1040 key and locks on my cab.

When people say you can order direct from Taito, is this still possible and where would I start? I could just wait until more locks and keys become available on YA but it took me long enough to find just this one key and lock.
