Hello Guys,
I have to swap a battery on my new Tekken 3 pcb.
I'd like to use a regular non-rechargeable battery, but I have a question.
Since the default one is rechargeable, do I have to remove any components to deactivate the charging circuit ?
Since my card has all the additional characters unlocked, will I lose everything ? Aren't they written on the 28C16 non-volatile memory?

I can't speak from experience, but I do believe that you have some time (not a lot) before all the memory clears in order to solder on a new battery. I don't believe that you have to disconnect anything in order to do so either. I'll leave it to someone with more experience correct me if I'm wrong.

Done some test, and this is the result for all need to replace battery on Namco System 12:

1) All characters unlocked is writed on your 28c16, its nonvolatile memory, so its do not lose a damn things.
2) The default battery is a CR2032, its not recharchable. So no mod is needed.

For a second I thought you soldered on the yellow battery to MOT3... Great work and very informative! I might have to do this to my system 12 boards as well.
