Since they were rusty, I applied an electrolytic treatment to these parts coming from the New Astro's monitor. At the origin these parts (monitor frmae, arm and chassis plate) were covered with a grey layer (maybe something antistatic or smt like that).
What's the name of that layer, which process is used to apply it?
Also, is it ok if I leave these parts like that? Maybe without any protection against electric flow or smt, there will be some interferences?
