Trick for removing ST-V cart without breaking the tabs?

So it seems that most ST-V boards, have the two tabs on the side of the cartridge slot broken off at some point in their life. I have a unit with the original cart still installed, that I would like to swap out for the Darksoft multi-cart. Any trick to removing the cart without causing damage?

Edit: Never mind. I got it off, but turns out one of the tabs was missing already. Meh.

I have never seen a motherboard with intact tabs.
