Hello, all

I'm giving away two non-working Neo Geo MVS boards—MV-1C and MV-1B. I'm just looking for someone to cover the shipping to send these out. Photos here and details below:

MV-1B

I purchased this board on aliexpress and it never worked for me. When I connect this to my cabinet, I get a backup RAM error message—see photo. Upon close inspection, I noticed there were at least two components missing from the connector board—looks like resistors. I removed the dead battery on this board since it was ready to leak if it didn't already. I pulled the positive tabs from the old battery and rigged another battery holder so that it fits this board. The rigged battery holder is included but not soldered to the board.

MV-1C

I purchased this board on eBay and it worked when I got it. The battery had leaked and was causing corrosion on the board so I pulled that old battery. I neutralized the alkaline with vinegar then alcohol then I applied solder to the exposed copper. I also removed the components from the charging circuit so that a plain CR2032 battery can be used—I followed JNX's tutorial for removing these components. The removed components will be included in this giveaway. No rigged battery holder will be included with this board. The board worked fine for a while set up like this.

Here's where it gets tragic; I decided to try my hand at replacing the capacitors on the MV-1C board. It was going fine until I accidentally pulled the negative through-hole trace from capacitor AC1. All of the other capacitors have been replaced with the exception of AC5—a leg of the old capacitor is stuck in there. I blame the proximity to the heat sink for my pulling a trace and not being able to get the old capacitor leg out :P

The MV-1C board would work if someone could figure out a way to repair the pulled copper trace in capacitor AC1, replace AC5, and install a new battery holder and CR2032.

Now that I no longer have a working MVS 1-slot, I'm looking to buy one.
