Hey there, wondering if this requires a JP keyboard to work. Have a NAOMI, ROM, DC adapter and two keyboards, but they keyboards don't seem to work.

I have played Lupin the Typing with a French Azerty keyboard, so I don't think that's your issue. Are you sure your DC adapter works?

any Dreamcast keyboard will work. I've personally used USA keyboards with it. From what I've determined all of the keyboards are identical electronically, it's just how the buttons are labeled that are different and it's up to the game to remap them for different regions.

HOWEVER

only the Japanese DC keyboards are available in the 87-key "tenkeyless" form factor, which is what you need if you want two of them to fit on a control panel.

What is this magical dream cast adapter you all speak of? I thought it was a case of stripping the wires and connecting them to the maple connectors, has someone made an actual adapter to do this?

The mitsu adapters work well, I have a few.

the official adapters are also just Dremcast controller extensions with the console end replaced with a JST connector. This is essentially what's inside the real TOTD cabs.

Interesting then. I'm not sure what to try then. Just a question before I ship myself back out on the road so I'll do some messing around when I get back!
