I got tired of having to go in the back of the cabinet to swap USB and HDMI connectors between systems and wanted a way to change them more easily without using electronic switchers.
I found a spot to the right of the 12v PSU in my Dia Blues that normally wouldn't get used for anything so I decided to make a patch panel to enable me change the system from the front of the cab.
The main pieces fit together using M3x8 CSK bolts.
I've made various lables that can be swapped out depening on the installed systems. I don't have all of these but I thought I would make various ones in case they were usefull to anyone else. If you need different ones making just let me know.
Cables fitted. I added lables to the ends so that I don't instantaly lose track of which cable is which.
I used the following items:
*100cm Dual USB 3.0 Male to Female With Screw Panel Mount Holes Extension Cable High Speed 5Gbps for Computer Case Motherboard

*1pcs HDMI-compatible Female to HDMI-compatible Female Socket Panel Mount Adapter Extender for 1080P 3D LCD HDTV

I also used one 60cm HDMI cable for the bottom of the cab and two 100cm HDMI cables for system on the top shelf.
USB extensions mounted with M3x10mm button head allen bolts.
HDMI couplers mounted with M2.5x6mm button head allen bolts.
The base could be fitted to the cabinet using double sided tape or velcro but I didn't want it going anywhere so I fitted M4 rivnuts to the bottom of the cabinet. I've included the drilling jig I used to drill four 6mm holes. The holes in the base part have counterbores to give clearance for the rivet flanges. I've got more details on that if required.
All installed. Just need to repeat for the other cab now.
