Virtua Cop 1 required a CRT. I prefer LCD, so it was annoying to have to install a CRT to play Virtua Cop 1.
So I created a PATCHED ROM that can be played without a CRT.
In the video, it is played with an analog stick, but 'GUN IO TYPE2' also uses the same 5V signal as the analog stick, so GUN IO TYPE2 can also be used.
Then, you can play Virtua Cop on the large LCD just like HOUSE OF THE DEAD4.

Both the Virtua Cop dedicated IO board and the general ‘Model 1’ IO board can be used.
Connect 1P X-axis and Y-axis to analog CH1 and CH2 and use CHUTE #1 switch as OFF-SCREEN switch.
Go to ‘GUN SETTING’ - ‘MANUAL ADJUSTMENT’ in the test menu and set
ADXMIN=1
ADYMIN=1
ADXMAX=FF
ADYMAX=FF

Set to ‘Free Play’ to disable the coin sound.

edit -
If you use a regular IO board and the cursor movement is strange, you need to set it as follows.
ADXMIN=1
ADYMIN=200
ADXMAX=FF
ADYMAX=2FF
Conversion is possible from Daytona USA to Virtua Cop without an additional PCB.

great work ....
can you tell more about the setup pls?
This is a modified patch that allows the x and y axes to be read as 5v analog values like in the type2 gun io exclusive game.
You need a type 2 gun io or a device that converts the x and y axes into a 5v potential difference using Arduino.
It works if you connect the analog values of the x-axis and y-axis to ch1 and ch2 of the io board.
You have to go into the gun calibration option and change it to 0~ff instead of 0~2ff for it to work properly.

thx need to re read to understand everything lol. so you are using the gun board from game using ir led ?
like in confidential mission, vcop 3 , hod3 ?
