Would like to borrow someone's Vewlix JAMMA loom from the kit for a few days. If possible and convenient, the little four connector PCB as well.

Will pay for shipping both ways, and some extra for your trouble. If you can help out, let me know!

Heh, I wanna help you out bro but I only have the one in my C... If only "someone" with more than one wanted to lend it out, that would be ideal. :whistling:

Dunno WHO that could be. :whistling:

If KC has one I end up getting, you could grab that and ship into back out to me.

Sheesh, you guys, lay it on there much, lmao :D . I will send you a full kit, so you see whats involved. If you do make these, I will tell you what needs to be done to make the loom even better than it is.

Ha. The loom will be easy. And I'd love to hear your suggestions.

I managed to get hold of one of the Taito to Sega and vice versa adapter PCB's with intent to make those as well since they'd be useful to a lot of folks.

My biggest issue so far is finding the correct JST connector. I have found the one that goes on the wiring loom, but not the PCB.

I'm very interested in a professional loom copy of the official only with the modification that it ends in DB15 (for my HAS'd/OSSC'd Diamond).

I made one, but its super hacky and plugs directly into the buttons replacing both official looms...
I want something pro that would work with official button loom/harness to keep my cab as stock as possible (just allowing for OSSC over Taito scaler for wider compatibility).
Maybe even working (amp up connectors) with the stock Vewlix (JVS) PSU, hmmm that would be super sweet actually. :)

I would love one of those for future use in my Vewlix m.. I would also love to get two of what jassin suggested for the has if you ever make them:)

Some things needed:

Harness needs to be about 12" longer for sure.
Incorporate a way to split the rgb signal to the taito scaler and the ossc with proper levels
Circuit to pump mono amplified sound from the game pcb to the headphone/line level input on the vewlix amp at the proper levels to be able to use it (jamma kit harness plugs directly to speakers)

2 - Incorporate a way to split the rgb signal to the taito scaler and the ossc with proper levels
3 - Circuit to pump mono amplified sound from the game pcb to the headphone/line level input on the vewlix amp at the proper levels to be able to use it (jamma kit harness plugs directly to speakers)
1 - Easy enough
2 - Will look into
3 - Easy enough

Terminating in DB15 for those who need it is also not difficult.

It did get me thinking... So yes the controls would need to end in DB15's for the HAS.
But IF we wanted the harness to interface with the Vewlix PSU, it would need to include a HAS compatible power connector on it as well.

Splitting the RGBs signal without amplification is easy.
So if you only connected one device at a time no problem whatsoever.
For both (at the same time) however that would require some boosting of the signal, that could become tricky.

OSSC is a SCART based device, and lowering arcade RGBs to proper SCART RGBs levels is as simple as resistor/trim-pots on said lines.
It isn't needed if using a HAS like me, HAS drops the levels and even offers sync regeneration.
So the harness only needs to link power and controls (from the cab to the HAS) audio and video is linked directly from HAS only.

J, I think with your idea of interfacing the HAS, it should be like a sub-harness to this one, meaning it should connect to the jamma edge of the main harness and have connectors/breakouts specific to the HAS, basically it being its own product of sorts. What do you think? Im basically working on this at the moment.

That sounds like its own project. No different than the standard JVS PSU -> Sys2x6 cables. Just a small adapter.

Would not be hard to just make a whole like HAS harness adapter kit to add-on to the existing one.

I see no reason to need both at the same time, so this seems easy enough as well.

Turns out that these are obnoxiously expensive to make compared to what Taito offers.

The K91X1207B is still available from Taito for 10,800JPY. I'm not sure if this includes or does not include the loom (my parts pricing did include it FWIW).

So, back to the JAMMA loom as the next project, ha.
